'Solstice' limited edition linocut print

'Solstice' is an original hand carved and hand printed linocut inspired by the bronze statue outside City Hall in Norwich. It depicts four women, each one representing a different season; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Medieval style clothing and natural folklore motifs feature heavily across the four depictions. A fair amount of Artistic license was used to turn a 3D sculpture into a 2D piece of art but I did my best to keep the essence the same.

Prints vary a little across the edition due to the nature of them being hand printed. Professional standard inks used in the multiblock method of creating linocuts. Please do not display in direct sunlight. Linocut block displayed in the photographs not included.

Linocut prints come with a certificate of authenticity on the rear of the mount. Linocut prints are signed, titled and editioned (where relevant).

Linocut is a form of relief printmaking whereby designs are carved into a block of linoleum and ink is rolled on the surface to create the print. Video examples of the printing process can be found on my social media (@stellaboxdesigns).
